Pattern Ideas-- for BOY!!! And GIVEAWAY!!!

Before The Sewing Dork and I even started Pattern Review month, I had several people request boy patterns.  Hmmmm.  Seeing as how neither of us have boys, it is a challenging request.  I do understand it, though and feel bad for those that do have boys.  MUCH harder to sew for.  I have put together a list of some of my favorite boy patterns for you to browse.  Hopefully it gives you some ideas.

That's the best I can do in my little 'sugar and spice' bubble.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Heidi and Finn have some DARLING boy patterns.  If I did have a boy, these two would be hanging in his closet before he was even born.  (And may even be added to my GIRLS closet in not too long. . .)

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I found a cute little shop on Etsy that has this cute little pants pattern.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Leila and Ben have this darling vest pattern for FREE!!! on their website.  I really wanted to make this one. . . ran out of time.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Have you ever checked out this magazine?  Ottobre Designs has some really fun boy patterns.  And many, many girl patterns as well.  Their patterns tend to be a little more complex than the simple pdf patterns.  But so many options!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Another source for boy patterns are Japanese Pattern Books.  One of the largest Japanese Pattern Book stores that I have found is Pompadour24 on eBay.   Wouldn't it be fun to make one of these?  Now, if only I read Japanese.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And of course, I would be remiss if I failed to mention Dana at Made's Celebrate the Boy month.  So many adorable ideas!  It makes me *almost* wish I had a boy.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And one of my favorite places to find cute patterns-- the THRIFT STORE!  Again, not as many boy patterns, but the ones you do find are quite unique.  Vintage patterns are by far, my fave.  And since I couldn't resist these two at my last thrifting outing, and I don't have boys, let's give them away, shall we?  One pattern is a size 3, the other a size 4.

One winner.  Two patterns.  Open until March 2.  Leave a comment.

Oh my gosh, those vintage patterns are so hilariously awesome - I totally want my kiddo to rock those bell bottom pants. He would so kill them. Thanks for the chance!

I haven't sew much for my boy ( I am sorry to say) and have not ventured into making boy clothes. However my son loves shirts and ties so much (he is 5) I decided to make him one. If it turns successful, he'll be shopping at mom's :)
I will be using an Ottobre pattern for the shirt.
Great boy clothes selection!!

Wonderful patterns, must say!

Can I add a new one? Yesterday I came across this new (to me) pattern for a shirt. I think it's adorable and quite affordable too:

Love these! I admit I don't make as much for my boys. Maybe because they don't gush over it like the girls do.

I love dress-up clothes for boys - and they're so hard to find! Making them is the only way to dress them for church and fancy days :)
Thanks for the giveaway!

Great patterns! My boy is still a baby so I haven't gotten to make any clothes for him yet. These would be really fun.

Loving the vintage patterns! I've made the Heidi and Finn Urban hoodie and the yoga suit for my daughter. The patterns are well written and detailed. Both of the outfits are adorable and are a fav in our house.

Why, oh, why does my thrift store never have any fabulous vintage patterns? All the ones I find are from the 80s. *shudder*.

I'd love to try out the sweet little dress. The versions from Project Run and Play were amazing.
