The women's patterns are mostly size 12, bust 32 or 34, but since they are vintage, I am thinking it is more like a size 8. Several of these are uncut, but I have not counted all the pieces, so you are getting as is ;0). If you are the winner and you have specific questions, just let me know.

For the skirt and shirt outfit I have seen them start at $50 and go up. It's very cute by the way. I too have a hard time putting a price on stuff I want to sell. Great job! :)

As far as pricing, I've paid $25-$35 dollars for sets like this, but would consider up to around $45 or so if the fabrics were to-die-for in my opinion! Good luck with your etsy shop! In vintage patterns, I look for patterns from the late 50s or early 60s; the narrow sloping shoulders of those styles seem to work for me!

ReplyDeleteVintage patterns are ace! Let's see, what was your question... When buying a vintage pattern I look for design features particular to the era - unusual seam lines and so forth. For an uncut pattern in a pristine envelope I'd pay up to US$8.
ReplyDeleteWhen I buy vintage patterns I look for styles I like honestly, very simple. I would pay about $3 a pattern average, but would pay more for something that was rare or I really really loved.

I really want the baby quilt to give to my first great niece that is due in August. What an awesome gift to be able to pass on. Need the measurements to say for sure what I'd charge. ReplyDeleteOoh, I also love vintage patterns. I look for a cute style that's not too dated. I tend to go for cute 60s and 70s styles -- dresses with peter pan collars, etc. I don't have much interest in stuff from the 80s -- way too out there for me. I don't care if they're already cut, as long as they're my size and all the pieces are there. I get vintage patterns at the thrift store for 50 cents each, but if I found a really cute one online and it was in good shape, I'd pay maybe $5-7 for it.

It would need to be complete and usable. Then it would depend on what kind of pattern it is e.g. an evening dress would cost more. So between 10-20 for very good quality.

I am starting up an etsy shop as well and having some price questions too! I would pay 40 for the skirt and top together. And for the quilt 25-35. I havent ever made a quilt but it seems like something you could price higher because of the time it takes. Good luck with your shop!! Blog about it so we can all check it out!

Hi. I have an etsy store and I sell little girls skirt (like 0-9m months) I sell them for 10-15 dollars, but they take ALOT less time and fabric. I also do patchwork quilts, I have had success at selling them for 25.00, so add in the shirt and I say 35.00 for the set? The quilt I would say in the 40 dollar range. I personally don't think people who make homemade/handmade things get paid enough for the time, it't just so hard competing against a place like Target where you can get shirts for 3.50 along with matching shorts for 5.00. I want to see your etsy store when you open... let me know! I am excited for you!

What I look for is usually dresses or skirts. Baby clothes too. But I love vintage dresses. I have a lot too, and see a few in your stash I would like to have.

ReplyDeleteI would look at the style. If I can imagine it in a more modern print, and it either a) has a hint of vintage cut or b) could pass as totally current, then I'm game! Oh, and also if it's not too advanced, I'm a newbie at sewing :) The only ones I don't like are the patterns that scream the era they are from (mod 60's cuts especially). I think I'd pay $5 - $7 per pattern.
