Giveaway #3

Last but not least. . . I LOVE vintage patterns! I love collecting them. . . and sharing them with you! And you get to pick which three patterns you want. Just click on the picture to see it larger (I think. . . I am sort of electronically challenged!). The women's patterns are mostly size 12, bust 32 or 34, but since they are vintage, I am thinking it is more like a size 8. Several of these are uncut, but I have not counted all the pieces, so you are getting as is ;0). If you are the winner and you have specific questions, just let me know.
Just leave me a comment about what you would look for in purchasing a vintage pattern and how much you would pay. Winner will be picked randomly and announced May 31st.
International friends very welcome!

  1. Sorry L,

The Julie comment was supposed to be me (Lisa) - My sister-in-law is visiting, and she was signed into google and I didn't realize it! I still want to win the vintage patterns, but I don't know if she does. LOL

  2. In a vintage pattern, ilook for it to be uncut, all pieces intact- I rarely will pay more than a few dollars, because I amnot sure I will use it, or even like it!

  3. Wow, all great giveaways. Sorry I don't have any input on the first two, but in vintage patterns (which I love too!) I look for them to be something I would actually use/make and would pay up to $15 depending on the pattern.

  4. Hmm in a vintage pattern I'd probably be looking for a fabulous silhouette :) And having all the pieces would be great too! As for price, I appreciate that these are more rare than current patterns, so probably up to $15. However like Ginger said, I worry mostly that I might not use/like it!

    cheers!

  5. For the skirt and shirt outfit I have seen them start at $50 and go up. It's very cute by the way. I too have a hard time putting a price on stuff I want to sell. Great job! :)

  6. Oh I L-O-V-E the skirt/shirt combo, and think it would so adorable on my daughter! As far as pricing, I've paid $25-$35 dollars for sets like this, but would consider up to around $45 or so if the fabrics were to-die-for in my opinion! Good luck with your etsy shop! I just opened mine recently :)

  7. I love all the giveaways! I wish I had a daughter young enough for that adorable skirt, but really the baby quilt is the greatest! I love the recess fabric! That ric-rac edging is a great touch!

  8. In vintage patterns, I look for patterns from the late 50s or early 60s; the narrow sloping shoulders of those styles seem to work for me!

  9. eep. I'm bad. I shop thrift and usually don't pay more than a dolalr or two for patterns! I think if I found one I HAD to have, I would pay up to ten though.

    ReplyDelete
  10. With vintage patterns I look for them to be something I would actually wear or use. I'm pretty cheap, so I probably wouldn't pay more than $5 for a pattern.

  11. I would love to win the outfit. I don`t have experience selling but I have seen them go for around $40-$50.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I love the quilt. Gosh I would think you could get $100 for something like this!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I love vintage patterns. I think that the price I would pay really varies depending on the condition of the pattern, as well as the age of the pattern.

  14. Fun -- who doesn't love vintage?! I would pay around $10 for a pattern like this if I were sure that all the pieces were included (I wouldn't mind if they were already cut, if it were cut to a usable size.)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I like vintage patterns but I won't pay more than a few dollars because you really don't know what you are getting.

  16. I love the baby quilt. I haven't really been looking for these, so I'm not sure about price...if it's a smaller size - $25-35.

  17. Vintage patterns are ace! Let's see, what was your question... When buying a vintage pattern I look for design features particular to the era - unusual seam lines and so forth. For an uncut pattern in a pristine envelope I'd pay up to US$8.

    ReplyDelete
  18. When I buy vintage patterns I look for styles I like honestly, very simple. I would pay about $3 a pattern average, but would pay more for something that was rare or I really really loved.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I look for something fun but classic. I don't want it to go out of style before I get around to making it.

I am not willing to pay a whole lot since I have a whole closet full of patterns but I insist I could use a few more!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I have never used a vintage pattern or any pattern at all for that matter. I just eye ball it and hope for the best!

I LOVE that outfit - please please my girl needs that!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I do a lot of thrift store shopping. I would not pay much for a vintage pattern. It would have to be exceptional for me to pay $2 for it. I am on the look out for less then a dollar ;-) Used to see them all the time, but not as much lately.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I sew lots of outfits for my triplet nieces and think the first out fit is adorable and would pay $30 -$40 wasy. I really want the baby quilt to give to my first great niece that is due in August. What an awesome gift to be able to pass on. Need the measurements to say for sure what I'd charge. I'd suggest going to Etsy.com and comparing your style, sizea nd fabrics to set your prices. Good luck.

  23. I don't know much about patterns... I guess I'd look for my size, (or my daughter's) and modern/classic designs.... I'd probably pay $10 for one.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love vintage patterns I especially love adding to my collection.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You would sell these on etsy. People love vintage!

I would pay $5 for the pattern it's self.

  28. I LOVE the baby quilt! How beautiful! I have never purchased a vintage pattern, but would pay $15-20 for a vintage dress pattern =]

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would see if the style is still wearable for now and whether it would work with my fabric stash.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Some very nice vintage patterns you have there!
I look for something that's still stylish, and probably wouldn't pay more than $15, but I'm cheap ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  31. LOVE that baby quilt!

Vintage patterns are wonderful, but the sizing can be a bit tricky. I would like to know the exact measurements given for the size. I look for uncut patterns most of the time.
I LOVE vintage toy patterns (plush animals more than dolls)

  32. OK, that quilt is adorable and I love the little outfit. So cool.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Very nice giveaway! I look for funky styles in vintage patterns - something a little different but not too old fashioned. I don't mind paying $10-$20 for the pattern I want (in good shape!). Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  34. my mom sell vintage patterns at about $3 to $5 each. More if they are really old or especially cute looking. She's sold quite a few on etsy.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ooh, I also love vintage patterns. I look for a cute style that's not too dated. I tend to go for cute 60s and 70s styles -- dresses with peter pan collars, etc. I don't have much interest in stuff from the 80s -- way too out there for me. I don't care if they're already cut, as long as they're my size and all the pieces are there. I get vintage patterns at the thrift store for 50 cents each, but if I found a really cute one online and it was in good shape, I'd pay maybe $5-7 for it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Awesome giveaway! My mom would love these patterns.

I am 8. Check out my giveaway too. www.sewingsister.blogspot.com

  38. I have yet to buy/find one (a vintage pattern)...well I've seen them on Ebay, but I want to Op shop some (and am about to raid my mums stash when I go home). But everytime I walk past an op shop I duck in and have a look

  43. Oy, definitely count me in the drawing. I love vintage, and I love the quilt!! Love them all!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm no help on pricing! I've only bought them at the thrift store or garage sales. I love them, though! I would compare on Etsy to help price them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh my goodness, I love vintage patterns. I just found some of my grandmothers old patterns the other day. I would $5 - $15 for a pattern depending on how much I really wanted it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. In vintage patterns, I would like them to be uncut, and I love stuff that is harder to find now - high waists, etc. I 'm not sure how much to pay, $5 each?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh my goodness! You have the best giveaway I've seen! I love that girls outfit. I suppose in a pattern I look for something that aligns with what is in fashion now. I would pay up to the normal price for a pattern - say up to $15!

    ReplyDelete
  48. What a fantastic giveaway! I love vintage patterns, though I find them difficult to find, particularly in a size that would fit me at a reasonable price. I cringe at spending more than $10 for a pattern, and even that's a stretch sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  49. O.K. I would love to have the simplicity 3463. I don't know much about vintage patterns and probably would not pay more than $12 for them, less if pieces were missing.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love the skirt and the blanket is to die for, and the patterns... I'm a bit bigger than an 8- but for a pattern in my size (that i liked) I'd pay... well if i really liked it 20

  51. loving the patterns...

Please enter me in the draw, and don't forget to enter mine. :)

  52. I have no idea, I've never bought a vintage pattern unless it was just considered "old" and at a garage sale!

  55. It would need to be complete and usable. Then it would depend on what kind of pattern it is e.g. an evening dress would cost more. So between 10-20 for very good quality.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Oh so pretty... I can enter this one YAY!! Depends on fabric.. and time again $15-$80 the detailed and dressier I would pay more for... I want to win a vintage pattern now... I am going to check my local Op shop!!

  61. I am starting up an etsy shop as well and having some price questions too! I would pay 40 for the skirt and top together. And for the quilt 25-35. I havent ever made a quilt but it seems like something you could price higher because of the time it takes. Good luck with your shop!! Blog about it so we can all check it out!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I always under price things when I sell them and then rarely make enough money to cover my time!!
I would pay $30-$40 for the set depending on the fabric!! The baby blanket I'm not sure but you need to decide on what you're paying yourself per hour and add that to the cost of materials etc.
Vintage patterns HAVE to have all the pieces, preferably uncut. I don't generaly buy them from shops as I like to "find" them myself!!

Please include me in all three giveaways!! Your stuff is deelish!!

  64. I like the pattern in the top row, second from the right - sort of a peasant blouse? I love vintage patterns and I think a cool picture on the cover is what I look for!

  65. vintage patterns are great!
    preferably they'd be uncut.
a buck or 2 is pretty fair.
and i'd want to know the measurements that correspond to the sizes, since sizes have varied so much over the years.

  66. Hi. I have an etsy store and I sell little girls skirt (like 0-9m months) I sell them for 10-15 dollars, but they take ALOT less time and fabric. I also do patchwork quilts, I have had success at selling them for 25.00, so add in the shirt and I say 35.00 for the set? The quilt I would say in the 40 dollar range. I personally don't think people who make homemade/handmade things get paid enough for the time, it't just so hard competing against a place like Target where you can get shirts for 3.50 along with matching shorts for 5.00. I want to see your etsy store when you open... let me know! I am excited for you!

  71. Wow! What a giveaway! such lovely items! I love hunting for vintage patterns - for me to buy them, they need to be my size and have a certain 'retro-ness' to them so that they are a shiny example of the fashions of that era. I usually pay no more than a couple of dollars for them.
    thanks for the opportunity!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oooh, I adore all of this!

For a vintage pattern--timeless style (or not, if it's funky enough!), completely uncut and untorn, and of course, my size! I would probably pay up to $20 depending on how fabulous and unique it is. Still beats buying something mass-produced and just as expensive from a store!

    ReplyDelete
  73. What I look for is usually dresses or skirts. Baby clothes too. But I love vintage dresses. I have a lot too, and see a few in your stash I would like to have.

My daughter loves vintage sewing too. This win would bless two people. :) Take care.

  75. I love old patterns and have quite a few myself. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I would look at the style. If I can imagine it in a more modern print, and it either a) has a hint of vintage cut or b) could pass as totally current, then I'm game! Oh, and also if it's not too advanced, I'm a newbie at sewing :) The only ones I don't like are the patterns that scream the era they are from (mod 60's cuts especially). I think I'd pay $5 - $7 per pattern.
