A New Necessity for the Sewing Room

 Glue sticks are
awesome!
Especially when you need to applique 42 hearts on Halloween costumes.

Just slap some gluestick on the back of the heart and stick it on.  It's not perfect, but it is much cheaper and faster than Wonder Under.

(And I don't have to use that accursed iron!)

And I certainly need to save all the money I can, since those fancy trims are SO,
SO VERY
expensive!!!!

do you find it makes the machine needle sticky at all?
i once tried to use regular sticky velcro instead of sew-on, for a sewing project. I broke several needles b/c they kept gumming up. Been hesitant to use glue in any form, since.

I love using spray adhesive with applique!!! Have fun...

I totally use that method for every applique job I do. It's not super sticky because it's just glue stick and it holds everything in place just enough to be helpful. Awesome!

Looking at these closeups, I think our daughters must have had the same idea for Halloween costumes. I did fewer hearts though, because they were a pain!
I have not shopped for fancy trims yet, I will probably end up hand-sewing a few pearls and beads, because I'm cheap :)
I can't wait to see your finished product!
