Another question for all of my PDF pattern users:
How do you feel about hand-drawn patterns versus digital patterns?
I am still working on the 'Baptism Dress Pattern', but I really want it to be done well. My personal opinion is that a well made hand-drawn pattern works just as well as a digitized one, but since I won't be purchasing my own patterns, I thought I better ask you guys.
Sooooo, what do you think?

I think a clear, well drawn pattern works just as well as a digital one!
I just reviewed my thoughts on PDF patterns yesterday but didn't talk about this...either one works for me. Accurate sizing is more important than computer drafting. That Miss Molly pattern is a staple in my house!
I think well done hand-drawn patterns work just as well. However, I much prefer them to be digital. I just feel a little "ripped off" if I spend $6+ on a pattern than is drawn by hand.
I agree with Rebekah. I definitely prefer digital.
I prefer a digital, but would be fine with a hand drawn. What I don't like is getting a pattern without a guide telling what measurements match up to what size (ie, Chest measurement 23 inches = 5T)
I've used some poor computer drawn PDF patterns. I've used some great hand drawn ones. I PREFER computer drawn, but what matters most to me is how easy it is to lay out and line up. I don't want to spend 45 minutes trying to figure out which page goes where and how they overlap.
I don't mind hand drawn patterns if they are well drawn, symmetrical, etc. I agree with Andrea about ease of lining up.
I prefer digital patterns for the reason that they are easy to reprint so that I don't have to either cut into the pattern or trace it - that generally saves me time. That said, I agree that it is important for digital patterns to line up. In terms of getting patterns to line up, I think the Oliver and S pop-over sun dress aligns well, and also CarlaC patterns from youcanmakethis.com are easy to align.
But of course, the most important thing is that it is a good pattern. I use Pink Fig and Farbenmix patterns and those are both patterns I have to trace. I like that Farbenmix uses heavy paper because it is more robust for tracing purposes.
I am going to say digital b/c the couple hand drawn ones I have purchased I just wasn't that impressed with.
A pattern is a pattern, the most important things are ease of use and good labeling. Other than that, whatever floats your boat.
I think Rachel Marie Gold made a good point, if it's a hand drawn pattern then using heavy paper is a must, I think. That way the pattern is so much easier to use and trace.
If a pattern is well executed it does not matter if it is hand drawn or digital. Unfortunately there is a feeling of worth attached to the digital. It's like we are getting what we paid for. Not always true. I just want something that goes together fairly easily and that the finished garment is great. I am more picky about sewing instructions being detailed than the pattern pieces... IMHO
p.s. I've purchased 12 PDF patterns in the past 6 weeks. I'm on a think I can sew more than I can kick.
I prefer digital.
