This post is part of a month long series called 'Pattern Makeover Month.' I took a simple pattern (The Sweet Dress by Leila and Ben) and 'made-it-over' into many different styles. For more information, go here.

Lovely ruffles, with a vintage button. . . . ahhhhh!
Can it get any better than this?
For this Sweet Dress variation, complete the dress as directed, stopping just before threading the elastic through the casing.
Take a contrasting piece of fabric cut 4 inches by 17 inches. Finish the edges with either a rolled hem or a rolled hem edge on your serger.
With the dress facing you, place the ruffle strip about 2 inches from the right sleeve seam on the front of the dress. The top of the ruffle should be over the neckline by about 1/2 inch. Pin the end in place.
Now take the rest of the ruffle and start folding it in towards the right side, pinning in place as you go. It doesn't have to be exact. Just keep tucking in place until the left side of the ruffle is about 2 inches from the left sleeve seam. Then stitch the ruffle down right under the casing stitching line. Add a fancy vintage button and you are finished!
Perfectly pretty!

Cute Cute!! Hope I win!!
Do you sew a dress a day??? So many cute outfits! When will you do something for boys???
PS your baby looks too big!
I love this one too! Only problem is, my kids would think the little accent was a hankie and wipe their snotty noses all over the front of the dress!
This one is so cute!! I think I need to make one for my little cousin!

LOVE the yellow!
