Button Bracelet

This post is part of a month long series called 'Pattern Makeover Month.' I took a simple pattern (The Sweet Dress by Leila and Ben) and 'made-it-over' into many different styles. For more information, go here.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hard to see in the picture, but I also added a bracelet-- a vintage button bracelet!

Okay. . . so it is not that great. But for one of my first attempts at creating jewelry-- I guess it will do. ;0)

Gather your supplies. Glue gun, vintage buttons, velcro (about 1 inch of top and bottom), fabric (2.5 inches wide by about 10 inches), two pieces of felt (first- 1.5 inches wide by about 10 inches, second- 1 inch by about 10 inches).

First thing you need to do it find your wrist circumference. Add 2 inches to that length and cut your wider piece of felt to that length. Cut your fabric about 1 inch longer than your measurement. The narrower felt should be cut about 1 inch shorter than your wrist measurement.

Now you can either sew or glue the fabric onto the bigger felt piece. Place the felt on the back side of the fabric, centering it. Fold the fabric over on the edges and either glue into place, or you can topstitch around the edges.

(The back should look sorta like this.)

Add some buttons. You will only want them on the flat part of the top of your wrist. For me, this is only about 2.5 inches. Sew the buttons in whichever way you like in the middle of the top of your fabric.

Turn the bracelet over and glue your second felt piece to the back, covering all the edges of the fabric.

Add some velcro to the ends and you are all set to go!

Hope you are all enjoying a very
Happy Mama's Day!
