Wardrobe Wednesday

My sewing machine is sick. After a week of being apart from my sewing machine, I now have to spend even longer without it! Oh, the pain! But seriously, what am I supposed to write about without my sewing machine to help? I am really not that interesting. But-- I have an idea! Why not get to know some of you better? And see what fabulous ideas YOU have (hopefully your sewing machine is not sick, too!).

Every Wednesday will be 'Wardrobe Wednesday', a chance for all of you to share with everyone else! Just link up one of your wardrobe creations using MckLinky. It can be anything dealing with fashion, from accessories to clothing to your crocheted socks! It just needs to be created by you. Please link up your post (not just your blog url) or even your flickr picture.

So what is my 'Wardrobe Wednesday' creation? It is actually a refashion. From a men's button-down shirt to a toddler shirt and skirt.

Refashions are the best! They are simple to make (some of your seams are already done for you!) and look adorable.

This one was made using fold-over elastic for the straps, a waistband with a little elastic in the back, a touch of lace at the bottom and a few vintage buttons to replace the plain old ones. I actually have a tutorial planned-- hopefully it will be posted in the next week or so.

Now, what have you created? I can't wait to see!

  1. Oh these are adorable! We have no girls but good friends who have 3 delightful little girls... and a niece. I think I uncovered my sewing machine just in time!

  4. So cute! I wonder if I could redo one of my husband's old work shirts into a top like that for me.

  6. How cute are those. The girls seemed to enjoy modelling them. I don't make much to wear so can't join in.
