Hello, my name is Lisa Sipes. I'm a 28 year old city girl living the small town life. I'm a longarmer by trade, piecer by obsession, digitizer, freelance designer and embroidery pattern tester because I just couldn't resist adding another hat to my ever-expanding wardrobe. I love tattoos (design my own) and piercings, and always laugh at the funny looks I get from little old ladies that need me to quilt something for them!
My mother taught me to sew when I was 5 or 6, always making my clothes and toys by hand. I started out with pillows and became my Home Economics teachers' favorite student. While I picked up the tricks of the trade quickly and early, I never took much interest in sewing. Crazy enough, my mother and I now run a quilt shop and sewing center together, which has become my life. Quite literally. I began learning what a quilting machine was and how to use one a little over a year ago. Shortly after that I pieced my very first quilt top and I've been going non-stop ever since. Every day is a learning experience in this industry and that's what excites me the most.
I have a dream of having my work published. The thought of seeing the words "Quilted by Lisa Sipes" in a book or magazine gives me butterflies in my tummy! Until then, I can handle only being published in my little (recently started) blog.
