Giveaway #1

So, I know you were all probably thinking that I was NEVER going to finish my giveaways, but I actually have finished one of them. Yay!

This is Bridget's Flights of Fancy quilt. I have to say, I am having a hard time parting with this one. And at first, I was even a little worried that it would be too busy or too crazy or too something.

It is a disappearing nine patch pattern, which I found here. I LOVE the Nest quilt that A Quilt Is Nice made and was hoping this would turn out as fantastic.

It has a black binding (hard to see in the pics, I know) that I was a little worried about at first, but it really pops! Okay, and the back? This is the first time I have just kind of "winged it" on the back. On my other quilts I had something very specific planned or just something plain on the back. Ummm, and. . . I hate to admit this, but I am sooo sloppy when I am cutting out the backing. I just lay the quilt top down and put the backing fabric over it and start chopping away- no rotary cutting or anything. On this back I planned to do the side strip, but only added the bottom print after I realized that I had cut my white too short. Oops! Thankfully, I LOVE how it turned out. I hope Bridget loves it as much!

How do you make the quilts look so 'old'? I'm assuming that they are not hand quilted but machine stitched... ??
