The Montgomery Mama Top

This post is part of a month long series called 'Pattern Makeover Month.' I took a simple pattern (The Sweet Dress by Leila and Ben) and 'made-it-over' into many different styles. For more information, go here.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It's Mama's Day!

And since it is Mama's Day, I thought we would take a break from the little girlie dresses and do a couple Mama posts. But I have to tell you, I am not as cute as my little girlies, so the modeling lacks a little. ;0)
(But K2 did a good job taking the pic-- for a 5 year old!)

I don't recall making myself anything to wear since that puff-painted sweatshirt in 4-H sewing. A little nerve-racking. . . and a lot harder than sewing for the girlies! I seem to have a lot more curves (and not all in the right places!). And no, I am not expecting-- it just looks that way. ;0)

But anyway-- all of the ideas I have shared can be used for women's clothes as well. You just have to find a peasant pattern to fit Mama.

I found mine at a thrift store for 25 cents-- not bad!

Youcanmakethis.com also has a cute peasant dress pattern.

The top I made for myself is made the same way as the Montgomery Dress from yesterday, only I added a casing for an empire waist. Still quick and easy!

And finally-- something for YOU!!!

You look great and the shirt does too. I just started dabbling in sewing for myself too and I laughed about your comment about curves in all the wrong places.
