The Kensington Dress

This is one of my very favorite dresses. . .

hopefully they are not all becoming a blur to you! ;0)

Sew the dress as directed, stopping after you make your neck and sleeve casings.



Cut one piece of coordinating fabric 2.5" by 5", and two strips 1.5" by 10". (You may want to make them a little smaller for smaller sizes.)

Finish one long edge and the two short edges on the two longer strips. These will be your ruffles. Iron the two short ends under on the main placket piece. Gather the un-finished edges of your ruffles. Now sew the ruffles to the two long edges of your placket piece, right sides together. Fold the seams under and iron. Pin your placket piece to the center of the front of your dress, right below the casing seam. Topstitch the placket into place. Attach your buttons.

Finish the dress as directed.
